Louis LaRock • At the age of 12, Lou started working with his dad's building/remodeling/roofing company after school, on weekends, and during summer vacations. • At the age of 17, his dad suffered a heart attack and Lou took over his construction company, running a crew of 6 men. • At age 20, Lou became a union carpenter, doing commercial construction and over 12 years, put in over 14,000 hours of service. During those years, he worked on numerous major projects: paper mills, hydro plants, sewer treatment plants, the 9 Mile Nuclear Power Plant, and 2 hydro electric dams on the Hudson River in upstate New York. • Lou spent 7 years as a construction supervisor, working throughout the US, building stores in malls and plazas, and ran crews of upwards of 50 men at a time. • For 30 years, he was a self-employed general contractor in remodeling and building new homes, supervising and working with a crew of 5 men. • Lou also spent 10 years as an independent RV park owner/operator on 16 acres of land in Central Florida. He ran his own community water treatment plant, private waste treatment plant, 800 amp - 3 phase electrical system with distribution to 200 campsites (and other adjoining businesses, RV sales, U-Haul, etc.). • Lou is a retired carpenter - a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 370. • Lou is now residing permanently in BC and is one of the first graduates of the new Home Inspection Certificate Program from Douglas College in New Westminster (completing the entire Carson & Dunlop home inspector's program, a total of 10 courses). • He is a certified member of CAHPI (BC) The Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors of British Columbia. • He is licensed by Consumer Protection BC, license #54604.
